Our client is one of the most prestigious wineries in the world, and they are looking for a Commis Chef to join their team in Cape Town - Stellenbosch. As a Commis Chef you will need to assist the Head Chef and other Senior Chefs.
Requirements:
- Culinary Certificate/Diploma;
- Preferably 1- 2 years previous experience as Commis Chef in 5-star restaurants;
- Availability to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings, public holidays, weekends);
Skills and Responsibilities:
- Assisting other chefs in the kitchen
- Follow recipes and standards to ensure consistency in preparation of all food items
- Assist with deliveries
- Daily checks of mis-en-place to ensure quality and freshness standards are met
- Product rotation
- Menu knowledge
- Overall cleanliness and maintenance standards are followed
- Procedures and Standards in the kitchen are followed
- Food safety and sanitation policies are followed
