One of the top wealth managers in South Africa is looking for an experienced and passionate AML Analyst to join their dynamic team in Cape Town.
As the AML Analyst , your primary objective will be to ensure the company's AML/CFT/CFP policies, processes, and controls relating to risk management, customer due diligence, and risk assessment are implemented and adhered to.
Key qualifications and experience required for the AML Analyst:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject matter (i.e., law, finance or business)
- Certificate in AML Compliance / ACAMS (ideally)
- Comprehensive understanding of the AML legal framework in South Africa
- Knowledge of Guernsey AML requirements is preferable
- Proven track record of performing enhanced client due diligence and onboarding complex legal entities
Key duties of the AML Analyst:
- Perform enhanced client due diligence for all high-risk clients
- Provide a specialist function to Accountable Institutions in respect of legal entity onboarding
- Perform customer due diligence and risk assessment when onboarding a client as well as throughout the life cycle of the client relationship
- Perform sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening on all clients and its related parties
- Ensure that all clients and linked parties are registered for ongoing screening
- Perform FATCA/CRS checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of data and correct classification of clients
- Perform transaction analysis to identify suspicious or unusual transactions
- Maintain excellent knowledge of sanctions regimes
Key personal skills:
- Exceptional report-writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
- Proficiency in data analysis and presentation of findings
