We are looking for a skilled Technician to inspect, repair, install, and alter district heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and refrigeration systems and related equipment. The technician will also perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with service standards, work instructions, and customer requirements.
- Maintain and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
- Identify maintenance risks on equipment.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
- Provide general servicing and maintenance on HVAC equipment.
- Clean, adjust, and repair systems, and perform warranty services.
- Perform repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Keep daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
- Ensure compliance with appliance standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Matric / N2.
- Availability to work after hours, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by customer needs.
- Ability to identify possible business opportunities and report to the manager.
- Physical fitness is essential, with the ability to work at heights.
- Follow the company code of conduct, procedures, and safety rules.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Essential knowledge of performing tasks related to:
- Controls / BMS systems & electrical equipment controls.
- Reading drawings.
- Motor starts (Direct online, star delta, part wind, variable speed drives).
- Commissioning of equipment.
- Unit control programming (set points and correct operation of controllers).
- Repairing and testing safety equipment.
- Installation and calibration of HP/LP oil pressure, differential water flow, paddle water flow switch, airflow switch, duct static pressure, and sensors.
Experience & Knowledge:
- Minimum of 5 year’s experience with central plants, chillers, and air handling units.
- 5 year’s experience in the HVAC industry.
- Installation of chillers, package units, hideaway split units, split units, down-blow units, cooling towers, all pumps, and extraction fans.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
