Quality Controller
The Quality Controller should know the flexible packaging industry extensively and must be able to guide all production departmental staff efficiently and satisfactorily. They will be responsible for ensuring that the production team is producing good quality production and identifying any non-conformances.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Control of non-conforming product and the reporting thereof.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 22 000 management systems (procedures and work instructions).
- Conduct testing and analyses (quality parameters) throughout the production stages.
- Good understanding of Laboratory Equipment and test methods.
- Have knowledge of the Quality and Food Safety Management System.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Have good conflict resolution skills.
- Have a good knowledge of the Company’s Disciplinary Code.
- Be able to compile and send accurate reports as required.
- Issuing and control of colour standards.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12.
- Quality or Packaging Technology would be an advantage.
- 2 – 3 Years previous technical experience in a laboratory.
- High level of numeracy.
- Be computer literate, especially with Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (verbal and written).
- Must have good knowledge of the flexible packaging substrate.
- Laboratory Analysis: Ink GSM, Shrink Test, Seal Test, COF Test, Opacity Test, Adhesive GSM and Ratio, conduct in-process quality control tests for printing, lamination, bagging, extrusion, pouching, and slitting.
- Pay attention to detail, ability to read and understand job instructions, meticulous with document control and details, time management skills, and the ability to identify and suggest corrective action for any NCR’s.
