Reporting To: Manager: Inspections (Operations)
CTC (Basic Salary): R 464,365.82 Per Annum
Region: Cape Town
Purpose
To administer compulsory specifications and technical regulations on behalf of the Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition by monitoring compliance through inspections and/or evaluations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with compulsory specifications and technical regulations.
- Impose appropriate sanctions for non-compliance.
- Process applications for letters of certificates, sales permits, and market surveillance inspections.
- Maintain the NRCS Quality Management System (QMS).
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
Qualifications / Experience
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Chemical or Analytical Chemistry, Health, or Natural Sciences.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Will be required to undergo training for 18 – 24 months.
Knowledge
Knowledge of the NRCS Act and regulations, compulsory specifications related to the area of specialty, general understanding of SANS 17020, and various related legislation impacting the work of NRCS.

Report writing skills; ability to use judgment; problem-solving; planning and organizing; action-oriented; deadline-driven; excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
