Position Overview:
The Line Technician will play a vital role in the Maintenance Department of a manufacturing facility, where they are responsible for providing technical expertise on the packaging lines. This includes setting up, adjusting, and performing preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure that production meets all standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM): Assist in establishing and reviewing the RCM process to enhance equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Equipment Set-Up and Adjustment: Optimize line performance by setting up and adjusting machines as needed to maintain smooth operations.
- Unplanned Maintenance: Respond to breakdowns and conduct unplanned maintenance to ensure minimal disruption to production.
- Scheduled Maintenance: Perform maintenance tasks in line with a defined procedure and schedule.
- Installation Support: Support the installation and commissioning of new plant equipment, as well as assist with upgrades to existing machinery.
- Training and Development: Train Line Leaders and Operators to achieve optimal machine operation and performance.
- Performance Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to reduce line stoppages and improve machine availability.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively seek ways to drive ongoing improvement in line performance and efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Certification: A Millwright trade certification is required.
- Experience: 3-5 years of post-trade experience with rotary filling and packaging machines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Standards Compliance: Knowledge of ISO standards is essential to ensure adherence to quality and safety protocols.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in setting up and maintaining packaging machinery.
- Computer Literacy: Intermediate computer skills to manage machine interfaces and maintenance records.
