Job Primary Purpose
The primary role of this position is to accurately and timely process monthly payroll transactions to ensure compliance with IFRS Acts, Legislation and Laws applicable to the payroll environment, as well as prepare, capture and monitor budgets.
Key Performance Areas:
- Accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll transactions.
- Precisely update the payroll processing software to ensure compliance with Legislation, Acts, and Laws.
- Comply with IFRS and Income Tax Act, Labour Relations Act, and other relevant legislation.
- Prepare and submit monthly reconciliation of salary expense and control accounts in compliance with IFRS.
- Maintain manual and electronic document management systems.
- Develop and implement personnel policies and procedure manuals.
- Facilitate internal and external audits.
- Compile and submit payroll reports and forecasts.
- Prepare, implement, and monitor budgets.
Minimum Requirements
- M+3, Degree with Accounting and Taxation as a major subject.
- Minimum six (6) years’ experience in a payroll environment with three years payroll management role.
- Minimum six (6) years' experience using a payroll management system.
- Experience in the Integrated Tertiary System (ITS) Payroll subsystem will be an advantage.
Knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function, including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll legislation and taxes.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills.
