JET Education Services seeks to appoint an Accountant.
Location: Johannesburg
The incumbent reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for the following, amongst others:
Responsibilities
- Preparing monthly financial reports and commentaries, including reconciling, examining and analysing the underlying accounting records for accuracy and completeness;
- Assisting with financial planning, budgeting and budget implementation, reviewing and monitoring operational budgets;
- Providing project financial management advice and support to project managers on programme budgeting and finances to enhance effectiveness in the use of project resources;
- Assisting with cashflow planning and managing liquidity;
- Liaising with the internal and external auditors and coordinating responses to audit observations and queries;
- Preparing annual financial statements in line with International Financial Reporting Standards for the statutory audit;
- Identifying and implementing innovative approaches and solutions for the continued improvement of the finance function;
- Taxation - computation and preparation of income tax returns, deferred tax computations, VAT and interacting with revenue authorities;
- Providing technical and policy guidance to a team of 6 finance and admin staff members, fostering teamwork and communication among staff in the division and across the organization;
- Overall, assisting the CFO with formulating policy decisions on accounting matters, finance team management, determining divisional priorities, and allocating resources for the timely completion and delivery of divisional KPIs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A university degree in accounting or equivalent qualification.
- A professional accounting qualification from an accredited institution will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 5 years experience as an Accountant is required.
- Experience in automated accounting systems (‘bots’) as well as familiarity with SAGE 300 will be an added advantage.

The total cost to company (CTC/all inclusive) package is between R582 000 and up to R638 000.
