To lead and manage the organization’s legal and forensic strategies and operations by developing comprehensive legal policies and procedures through establishing robust legal frameworks for Engen and providing strategic legal counsel to the executive leadership, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, mitigating legal risks, and supporting Engen’s business objectives and strategic decisions to safeguard corporate governance and uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct across the organization.

What you’ll have done before
Baseline:
- NQF Level 7 (Degree in LLB)
- 15 years’ experience managing the Legal & Forensic function.
- Knowledge of international laws and regulations.
- Extensive experience operating at a senior leadership role.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions and managing complex legal matters.
- Extensive knowledge of corporate law, forensic law, compliance, risk management, and governance.
- Experience in providing strategic legal and forensic advice to Top Executives and Board of Directors.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- In-depth knowledge of national & international forensic regulations and standards.
Advantageous:
- Postgraduate in Law/Forensics Science/Criminology.
PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS/ASSOCIATIONS:
- Admitted Attorney/Advocate in South Africa.
- Forensic Certification from a recognized body (e.g., South African Academy of Forensic Sciences) – Advantageous.
