Technical Manager
An exceptional opportunity is available for a dedicated Technical Manager which offers a unique chance to lead and influence technical strategies and food safety standards at a strategic site level.
Current residential location must be within the Western Cape
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic technical and food safety plans to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Lead and mentor a team dedicated to maintaining and enhancing food quality and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve processes and food safety and quality standards.
- Manage the day-to-day aspects of the site-based technical functions and oversee the FSMS systems, ensuring they are effective and up to date.
- Ensure audit compliance with respect to internal, external, legal, and customer requirements.
- Set and drive departmental KPIs and challenge improvement when required to ensure targets are achieved and improved.
- Ensure that customers’ Codes of Practice are adhered to, and any changes are implemented and effectively communicated to the wider business.
Desired Experience & Qualification
A minimum of a BSc in Food Science is essential, alongside significant experience in a strategic site technical leadership role within the FMCG sector, to lead the technical and food safety initiatives, ensuring the highest standards are met and maintained within a dynamic poultry processing environment.
Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the FMCG industry, ideally in a poultry processing environment, which will stand you in good stead.
