What you will be doing:
- Ensure financial deadlines are met while crafting comprehensive financial reports supported by documentation like asset and shareholders loan registers.
- Facilitate monthly and annual departmental review meetings, where you will work on cash forecasts and ensure smooth reconciliation of inter-company accounts.
- Manage month-end journals, including payroll, and provide seamless data for statutory submissions, contributing to the preparation of group budgets.
- Oversee bank transactions with a keen eye on accuracy and compliance with GAAP principles.
- Collaborate on process improvements to streamline operations, all while maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, auditors, SARS, and banks.
What you need:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or relevant field
- 5+ years of experience in accounting/finance
- Proficiency in one accounting system
- Experience with financial reporting and knowledge of accounting regulations
- Deadline-driven with the ability to work both independently and in teams
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise and plan work activities effectively
- Familiarity with Google Suite, Xero, and SimplePay advantageous
