Document current condition of stripped units, with initial repair scope for Engineering sign-off
Ensure all components are ready for inspection for Engineering sign-off
Coordinate with other internal departments for necessary sections to be completed for assessment proposes
Do measurements on aftermarket gear units for assessment purposes
Liaise with suppliers for quotation on repair items from assessment
Liaise with customers on and off site when required
Liase with sales reps on scope of work
Liase with Quality Department for MPI and fitters for stripping of units
Follow up with any relevant department if assessment is standing idle for a long time
Carry out all necessary filing associated with day-to-day work
Do failure investigations and assist with off-site work like open tendor inspection when required
Manage breakdowns and liase with relevant departments on repair scope and following up with fitters
General engineering administration
Work as an effective team member of the engineering team, but also work independently to achieve pre-set goals and objectives
Due to the nature of the business, all information must be supplied in an accurate manner
Liaise with other global DBGS engineering offices when required
Assist with costing of enquiries and compiling of proposal packs if required
Carry out any reasonable task as instructed by your manager or team leader
Desired Experience & Qualification
Matric / Grade 12
B.Eng or B.Tech (Mechanical)
Basic understanding of heavy machinery
Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
Practical problem solving
Good communication skills (Verbal & Written)
Computer literacy in terms of 3D Cad (Solid Edge preferred) and Microsoft office
