We are looking for a young Project Engineer in Control Panels for a permanent role in Cape Town.
Desired experience about 3 years in Design of Control Panels, with at least some exposure to Project Engineering - must be comfortable in meeting with Customers and understand the Project Cycle.
The main purpose of this role is to assist with projects in the manufacturing of Control Panels (mostly LV) through:
1. Meeting with Customers, determining all specifications and requirements.
2. Design of and AutoCAD drawings of Control Panels according to Customer requirements.
3. Attending Estimating meetings, generating quotations/proposals.
4. Ensure tenders/proposals meets all commercial terms and conditions and technical requirements.
5. Generating BOM for the project.
6. Liaising with Sub-Suppliers as needed – including re specialized components that may be used in the project.
7. Overseeing the whole project cycle, from design to delivery and invoicing.
8. Coordinating with the Production Team as needed, including chassis layout if needed.
9. Ensure project timelines are kept to, and identify problem areas that might influence the timelines and problem solve on the go.
10. Ensure all contractual agreements are kept.
11. Arrange and/or do inspections and testing of Control Panels with QC.
12. Deal with Customer technical or other queries as needed.
13. Maintain Customer relationships and upkeep of the Company image.
14. Ensuring the smooth, profitable and proficient operation of the Company.
15. Optimise processes, maximise efficiency and deliver outstanding results through strategic planning and continuous improvement.
Minimum applications criteria:
1. At least three years’ experience in Electrical Design of Control Panels.
2. Proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred, or ability to learn AutoCAD very quickly. At least a proficiency in a Design Software used in Control Panel design.
3. Electrical Engineering Degree / Diploma / N6.
4. A good understanding of project cycles in manufacturing, exposure to Estimation will be highly beneficial.
5. Excellent communication skills in English (email etiquette essential, telephonic skills essential).
6. Be highly detail orientated, all all facets.
7. Be highly organized.
8. Drivers License (non-negotiable), and own reliable transport to work and back. Travel allowance will be provided, and it might be expected to go see a Customer with your own vehicle.
9. RSA Citizen.
10. No criminal record.
Salary is Negotiable, however we would require your current salary and salary expectation going forward should you be interested in the role?
Start date is open, they are looking to employ quite quickly for this role. This role will report directly to the On-Site Manager of the Panel Division.
