Red Ember recruitment is recruiting for Product Consultant for their client in Centurion to achieve sales volumes and gross margin targets as determined by the annual budget.

- Ensure knowledge and awareness around USZA sales/gross margin/product group sales requirements.
- Implement and manage the overall pricing strategy per distributor as determined by USZA.
- Implement and manage the overall distribution management system as determined by USZA.
- Maintain a high level of activity at your customers prioritizing of time spent at the most lucrative accounts whilst managing a healthy end user / distributor split.
- Guide, support and train distributor and end users on clients products, technical information and relevant standards and test methods.
- Host regular Academy days / Webinars for the distributors and end users in your portfolio. This must be in line with the requirements of a minimum of 2 per quarter.
- Ensure high levels of Distributor engagement, relationships and customer service
- Apply the principles of the end users strategy and sell on value over price at both end user and distributor level.
- Be proactive in identifying and executing growth areas, new opportunities and initiatives at both end user and distributor level.
- Ensure technical, range and overall product knowledge is up to the client standard as industry leaders.
- Accurate management of product samples - control and follow-up to ensure feedback and success.
- As a sales specialist, support our Marketing function - brand awareness and exposure, public relations opportunities, ensure all distributors adhere to our CI regulations.
- Support the Product Management function - market information (end users / competitors etc.) / product requirements and evaluations / launches / positioning / trials / feedback.
- Sales Admin - Update Activity Schedule daily / support cross-functional communication / support internal sales communication
- Staff Admin - manage employee expenses responsibly and on time / ensure adherence to all internal policies and procedures
- Ensure technical, range and product knowledge is up to the client standard as industry leaders.
- Communication: Frequently reaching out to colleagues, internal sales and line manager to ensure constant open dialogue and sharing of information.
- Sales aptitude: Showing ability and desire to create opportunities in basic routine customer / distributor interactions.
- "Putting one's hand up" to tackle any opportunity that may improve company performance. Showing initiative and going the extra mile over and beyond when asked to.

- Stay abreast of market trends, competitor and industry news.
- Support the internal sales function: ensure updated communication at all time and all internal processes are followed to ensure customer service.
- Support all new product launches as per the strategy laid out by marketing/product management/sales management.
- Support product management in market surveillance: end user requirements, competitor pricing and developments
- Current and new product trials: Ensure support in trialling potential new products; ensure support in communicating potential product issues.
- Range Management: Ensure support in terms of discontinued product strategies, range rationalization and re-positioning.
- Ensure compliance to all brand / corporate image / brand ambassador programs - Be a Brand Ambassador internally and externally.
- Ensure all internal marketing processes are followed in terms of spend / approvals PR exercises and CI (Corporate Image) requirements.
- Communicate all distributor and end user marketing requirements through to marketing department - PR / sales tools
- Ensure all company policies and processes are adhered to timeously and accurately such as: activity reporting, sample orders, log sheets, expense forms, leave applications, pricing proposals and marketing spend proposals.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
- Clear criminal and ITC credit record.
- 3-5 years experience in an sales and marketing environment, industrial exposure preferred.
- Post graduate qualification / Diploma / BCom Degree / or Similar is preferred.
- Proficient in new Microsoft 365 applications. Skilled in MS Sharepoint, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe pdf etc.
- Strong general computer literacy. Ability to navigate new systems, reports, and detailed excel data on both a laptop and smartphone.
- Valid driver's license with ability and willingness to travel to all customers within the greater inland region.
