Technical Buyer / Procurement Officer

A large international production business is seeking to employ a Technical Procurement Officer in the bigger Paarl / Cape Winelands area.
You will be responsible for the procurement of technical, production, and project-related purchases and procurement-related administration.
Requirements
- ±3 years’ work experience in procurement (Technical/mechanical procurement experience an advantage but not essential)
- 2 years of experience in Logistics and Supply Chain will be an advantage, but not essential.
- A relevant qualification will be beneficial, but not essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Forecast purchases based on sales and production plans.
- Create and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Review prices, product specifications, and lead times from various suppliers.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices.
- Maintain and update supplier database.
- Coordinate and communicate purchases, collections, and deliveries with all parts of the business.
- Manage outstanding orders and deliveries.
- Standardise procurement procedures, reduce processing time and improve delivery schedules.
- Place purchase orders.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders.
- Implement and manage a stock-keeping and procurement system for on-site stores.
- Ad Hoc or other related duties as assigned.
Salary – Negotiable dependant on skills and experience.
