We are currently recruiting for a 3-Month Fixed-Term Contract position for a Salaries Controller to join our dynamic team.
The purpose of this role is to provide a professional payroll administrative function in a timeous, detail-orientated and accurate manner. This includes but is not limited to supporting the end-to-end payroll function, the resolution of payroll queries and the provision of payroll related information and reports.
Key Performance Areas:
- Salaries – processing salaries for the company for various staff categories, permanent, fixed term and contractors.
- Leave through ESS system – managing the entire leave process – processing, monitoring and reporting.
- Loading of staff expense claims EFT payments.
- Loading EFT file for net salary payments.
- Maintain system database – load new employees, update records, process terminations and transfers and any other changes.
- Printing payslips and dealing with payroll queries.
- Processing yearly increases and bonuses.
- Submitting monthly statutory returns (e.g. UIF, EMP 201, SDL).
- Preparation, submission and payment of annual EMP 501s, IRP5s, COID, etc.
- Prepare and timeously submit month end payroll reports.
- Prepare submit reports / schedules for third party payments and ensure they are processed and paid over timeously.
- Monthly reports as required by management.
- Administer and accurately process statutory deductions and employee benefits while ensuring all HR policies and labour legislation are adhered to.
- Liaison with retirement fund and medical aid administrators.
- Bookkeeping: Prepare monthly journals.
- Reconciliation of salaries-related general ledger accounts.
- Assist with annual salaries forecast and budget.
- Assist with preparation of documents related to benefits administration.
- Provide first-line support for payroll queries and allocate accordingly among the payroll team and where necessary, the HR team.
- Any other ad hoc duties as required by management including but not limited to functional projects.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric.
- Payroll and/or Human Resources Diploma.
- A Financial Tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll administration is essential.
- At least 3 years’ experience in benefits administration.
- At least 5 years' experience working with SAGE People 300 payroll and ESS, is essential.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working with VIP Premier is advantageous.
- Finance/accounting knowledge and experience is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of employee tax legislation.
- A solid understanding of payroll practices, policies and procedures.
