The Opportunity
This position works out of our Johannesburg offices as a Junior Supply Chain Specialist on a 12 Month FTC.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner with 3PL and cross-functional teams to evaluate metrics for success on key projects.
- Work cross-functionally with procurement, operations, supply chain, finance, freight forwarders, and brokerage teams on any projects requiring support.
- Assist with the implementation of the Catapult project across all Abbott divisions.
- Support the CFS Logistics team in identifying gaps and opportunities in warehouse practices and processes.
- Support QA teams on investigations of product quality complaints and deviations related to Supply Chain and Logistics processes.
- Handle all correspondence in a timely and effective manner through proactive and responsive communication to internal and external business partners.
- Prepare Executive Level presentations as required.
- Support the CFS Logistics team in overcoming roadblocks to ensure delivery aligns with internal and external customer requirements, ensuring quality and timeliness.
- Monitor 3PL performance through KPI management.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Operations or equivalent.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years Supply Chain and Logistics experience within the medical industry preferred.
- Experience in working with and implementing ERP and Warehouse Management systems.
- A strong understanding and knowledge of technology and systems within the Supply Chain and Logistics environment.
- Experience with SAP 4/H (implementation/user).
