Financial Accountant to join their finance team. As a
Financial Accountant , you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health of the organisation.
As a
Financial Accountant you will responsible for the following:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with local accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Oversee the general ledger, ensuring the proper classification of financial transactions.
- Reconcile accounts and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain the chart of accounts and recommend improvements as needed.
- Prepare management accounts and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing insights and recommendations to management.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to support decision-making and planning.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance team members and department heads, to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency.
- Support external audits and regulatory compliance requirements by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements affecting the organization, ensuring compliance with these changes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of financial operations.
Job Experience and Skills Required: Completed Bcom in Finance
Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles
Minimum 1 - 2 years post articles experience
Retail experience would be beneficial
