Requirements:
- Experience in the marine sector .
- Computer literacy with experience in creating reports.
- The candidate should be able to read and create hydraulic schematics.
- Minimum ND Mechanical Engineering – Ideally BEng, BTech or BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
- Hydraulics Certificate: Possess a certificate or qualification related to hydraulics to demonstrate expertise in hydraulic systems.
- Trade Theory: Strong understanding of trade theory relevant to hydraulic equipment and machinery.
This position will entail working alongside Artisans and their Assistants in the company’s workshop and/or on site.
Expected duties will include, but are not limited to the below:
- Working alongside staff and management, as well as Customers and Superintendents.
- Assisting Artisans (both in workshop and on site) daily to ensure that work is accurate, and jobs are completed to company standards.
- Troubleshooting and fault finding hydraulic and pneumatic systems, both on and off site.
- Testing and commissioning of hydraulic systems.
- Design of hydraulic systems using industry standard components.
- Maintenance of hydraulic components such as cylinders, motors, cranes, and power packs.
- The Hydraulic Engineer will be required to conduct themselves to a high standard, in accordance with what is expected by the company.
- Cleanliness, timeliness, and excellent communication are non-negotiable.
- Time cards to be submitted daily.
- Occasional overtime where necessary.
