We're looking for a Performance Marketing Manager to join the Sanlam Retail Credit business (Sanlam Personal Loans and Sanlam Credit Solutions) to assist us in becoming the lender of first resort, while supporting our clients with advice-led credit solutions to manage their credit appropriately in order to build wealth.
What will you do?
The Performance Manager will play a key role in driving growth of the business:
- Develop a unified growth strategy that aligns with SCS engagement strategy and the personal loans growth strategy.
- Build and manage budget, strategy and reporting for digital performance media.
- Identify opportunities for growth, using performance media to attract new users or customers and retain existing ones (with repeat SPL clients and SCS engaged clients).
- Work with Heads of the business units and the digital marketing team to continuously plan, interrogate and check performance – to enable agile pivoting and optimizing for quick turn-around.
- Manage media spend across paid social, SEM, display/DSP, influencers, affiliate and direct to publisher channels.
- Use data to segment audiences for more personalized campaigns, optimizing targeting to ensure each segment receives relevant messaging.
- Develop retargeting strategies to engage users who have shown interest but haven’t yet converted.
- Track, measure, and report on key performance metrics identifying trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement to the management team.
- Manage day-to-day oversight to ensure key sales and performance metrics are met (weekends included).
- Implement and optimize campaigns to drive KPIs.
- Measure and use data insights to report performance of all digital initiatives, and provide actionable strategies for improvement to meet business objectives.
- Identify trends and insights and optimize spend + performance based on insights.
- Plan and execute A/B and multivariate tests.
- Keyword optimization.
Reporting requirements:
- Continuous performance update reporting on search and social performance in relation to KPIs and budget allocated.
- Derive insights and propose tactics and recommendations on Search and Social Performance.
- Propose changes and channel experimentation for enhanced results.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders, showcasing progress toward goals, key achievements, and areas needing attention.
- Develop reports that demonstrate the impact of growth strategies.

Qualification and Experience
- Marketing Experience: 5+ years of experience in performance marketing, analytics, and conversion optimization. Experience should include managing large-scale digital campaigns and budgets across multiple channels (e.g., paid search, social media, SEO and SEM).
- Proven ability to drive results in a high-growth environment, with a demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Background in credit will be a bonus.
- Proven track record of ability to optimize and scale campaigns.
- Out of the box ideation for creative, targeting, and buying methodologies - Must be willing to pivot as markets shifts to test new strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of pixels & Google tag manager.
- 5+ years experience in data feed management & optimization across multiple channels.
- 5+ years experience with direct response marketing.
- In-depth knowledge of web tools such as - Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Shopify, Facebook Analytics, Google Merchant Center.
- 5+ years experience with all Paid Social platforms, SEM platforms, native platforms, influencer programs, DSP's, etc.
- Expert in media buying metrics and Attribution Models.
