CV-Library is on a mission to help the world to work by connecting job seekers with employers. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and strategic Director of Operations to lead our operational initiatives and drive efficiency across the organisation.
The Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our business unit in South Africa, ensuring efficient performance and growth across all departments.
This leadership role involves operational execution, budget management, and optimisation of resources to meet organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations and ensure the smooth functioning of all departments including Admin, Customer Services, Sales, Marketing, Finance and HR.
- Locally support with the implementation and optimisation of systems (including Microsoft Dynamics), to improve operational efficiency.
- Continuously review and improve the operational workflows to increase efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Service UK, US and Global markets working alongside teams in CV-Library’s overseas locations.
- Align operational plans with company growth and long-term goals.
- Manage recruitment and retention in line with our operational KPI’s.
- Identify operational areas where local talent in South Africa can provide additional support to the group’s operations.
- Will actively be involved in hiring decisions, will manage leaders to ensure that new starters have clear objectives prior to starting and are able to onboard quickly.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the teams to ensure high performance and engagement.
- Foster a culture that promotes teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Manage the operations budget, monitor expenditures, and ensure cost-effective practices.
- Lead local contract negotiations and vendor management to secure best practices and competitive pricing.
- Optimise operational costs without compromising quality or service levels.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations, including health & safety, environmental, and labor laws specific to South Africa.
- Identify potential risks to the business and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure that operations are aligned with customer needs and expectations, enhancing service delivery and satisfaction.
- Serve as a point of contact for key stakeholders and partners to ensure strong relationships and alignment.
Requirements
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree qualified in a relevant field.
- Proven track record of successful operational leadership in dynamic and fast-paced businesses, with at least 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role in an operational office environment.
- Experience in the South African market, with a strong understanding of local regulations, compliance requirements and labor laws.
- Sales or customer services experience is essential, and experience of working in UK and US markets preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of business processes, supply chain management, and operational efficiency.
- Experience in budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
- Significant experience with operational tools, including ERP and CRM (specifically Microsoft Dynamics) as well as HR software.
