Position: Club CEO
PLEASE NOTE: The client is looking for a golfer with relevant GM/CEO experience in hospitality or golf.
This position reports to the President of the Club and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of club operations, which include and not limited to Clubhouse, F&B, Finance, Golf Operations, Golf Course, Padel, Play Area and Lifestyle Centre.
The candidate will need to demonstrate seasoned leadership skills in developing a coherent culture with clarity, vision, values and practices that align with the broader vision and goals of the Club. The candidate will need to foster a healthy environment conducive to maximizing capabilities and supporting operational excellence, member engagement and continuous improvement of all processes.
The role will include :
- Efficient day-to-day operational (managing resources to maximum effect) and financial management of the Club including golf course maintenance, golf and other sporting activities including tournaments and event organisation;
- Equipment and infrastructure management, human resource management. Compliance with all regulatory requirements for the efficient, effective and sustainable running of the golf club.
- Preparation, development and ongoing analysis of budgets and management accounts;
- Creation and execution of effective sales & marketing solutions to promote golfing and commercial opportunities at the Club.
- Developing and implementing strategic plans to realise the Club’s vision for the future;
- Efficient and effective human resource management to ensure the staff are motivated.
In all of the above, the General Manager must create an environment where the staff are involved and enthusiastic in working towards the common goal of a well-managed operation which values open communication and a high degree of respect for one another.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
- General management experience with sound financial knowledge resulting in convincing evidence of operational delivery.
- Good skills in recruiting, training, monitoring, evaluating, and motivating personnel.
- Good interpersonal skills to resolve conflict and work with employees at all levels, as well as suppliers, members, visiting golfers and general members of the public.
- A good level of communication skills including articulate proficiency in written and oral English language.
- Values and personal characteristics: Highest standards of integrity, diplomacy, thoughtfulness, analytical ability, decision making and common sense.
