Our client is seeking a Handyman to join their team. The successful candidate will be required to maintain buildings and all amenities and keep them in a pristine condition with minimal disruption to the production process. The Handyman will report to the Technical Services Manager.
Responsibilities:
Maintains buildings and facilities including lighting, plumbing, painting, and building repairs by visual inspection and MRV system.
Conduct monthly site inspections.
Responsible for general building cleaning and maintenance.
Repairs and replaces floors, stair strips and piping as needed.
Repairs and paints doors, windows, walls, ceilings, rooves and other parts of the building.
Ensures contractors complete tasks satisfactorily and follows up on any deficiencies for corrective action.
Maintains waste and recycling receptacles around the facility.
Manages the quarterly clearing of the rejects store with the assistance of casual labor.
Assists the Tech Services department with ad hoc tasks when required.

Ability to safely use common power and hand tools.
Basic plumbing, electrical & mechanical skills.
Ability to work well with others, including contractors.

Good planning and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent.
Experience installing and replacing plumbing systems.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a same or similar role.
