Senior Bookkeeper position available in Strand.
Do you have a solid accounts and bookkeeping background to assist in our clients Strand branch as a Senior Bookkeeper?
Our national client requires your experience in financial processing, VAT & bank reconciliations, managing the full Debtors and Creditors function and overseeing their daily cash up procedures.
Must be a team player, bilingual in English and Afrikaans, and have the ability to manage this branch's financial portfolio ensuring accurate financial reports for Head Office.
Hours: Monday to Friday 8 – 5 pm, alternate Saturdays 8 – 1 pm
Requirements:
- Matric, relevant accounting qualification
- Accounting practical training completed
- Communication skills in both English and Afrikaans
- Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)
- Experience working on accounting systems
- A team player with good interpersonal skills
- Deadline oriented
- Highly organised and detail-oriented with strong financial acumen and excellent time management skills
- Results driven with strong communication skills
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working alongside and assisting the Operations and Sales Managers
- Manage Company financial information effectively and efficiently.
- Prepare and examine financial records
- Responsible for financial processing and facilitate bank payments
- Bank reconciliations
- Managing Debtors and Creditors function
- Oversee daily banking and cash up procedures
- VAT reconciliations
- Ensuring all accounts receivable and payable functions are completed timeously
- General ledger and cash book reconciliations
- Balance sheet and income statement journals
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Preparation of payroll into Excel reports for Head Office
- Ensure all overtime, leave etc. is recorded accurately for Head Office
- Assist with budgets and processes
- Preparation of accurate financial reports for management and Head Office.
- Work to be completed within the required standards and timeframes
- Analysis, data management and preparation of Excel spreadsheets
- Oversee processes and effectiveness of financial reporting
