Job Description
You will be required to:
- Undertake Hydrological Impact Assessment.
- Calculate Water and Salt Balance.
- Undertake Flood Line Calculations.
- Compile Stormwater Management Plan.
- Do Surface Water Impact Studies.
- Prepare written reports and presentations of findings.
- Estimate water properties (e.g., volume, mass).
- Develop techniques to improve water quantity and quality.
- Analyse water and soil samples and measure contamination levels.
- Measure environmental impact of erosion, droughts, and floods.
- Predict floods, droughts, and snowstorms.
- Monitor pollution levels in rivers, streams etc.
- Run computer-aided models to analyse data.
- Present findings to managers and policymakers
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists.
- Participate in the construction of dams, hydroelectric power plants, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Hydrology and a masters degree would be of high advantage.
- Registration with EAPASA or SPNA is desirable.
Skills
- Notable experience as a hydrologist as per the job description.
- Working knowledge of GIS and GPS applications.
- Hands-on experience running Hydrological model such as UPD (i.e., Utility Program for Drainage Systems).
- Efficiency in writing reports and giving presentations.
