Summary of the role
Are you a young professional looking for a new opportunity? Well, look no further! We are seeking dynamic Store Assistants to join our team. The Store Assistants will assist customers, maintain the stores cleanliness, organize, and provide support to other store staff as needed.
Key responsibilities:
1. Customer Service
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer customer inquiries and provide information about products, promotions, and store policies.
- Assist customers with locating products and making purchasing decisions.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns effectively.
2. Merchandise Handling
- Receive, unpack, and label merchandise shipments.
- Arrange and restock shelves, ensuring products are well-organized and properly displayed.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels by conducting regular stock checks.
- Assist with pricing and tagging of products.
3. Cash Handling
- Operate cash registers and process customer transactions accurately.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and provide change to customers.
- Ensure cash drawer balances at the beginning and end of shifts.
4. Store Maintenance
- Keep the store clean, organized, and well-maintained.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing.
- Ensure that shelves, aisles, and display areas are free from clutter.
5. Security
- Monitor and report any suspicious activities or theft attempts to store management.
- Follow store security procedures, including bag checks, when necessary.
6. Product Knowledge
- Stay informed about the products and services offered by the store.
- Provide product recommendations and information to customers.
- Participate in training sessions to update product knowledge.
7. Team work
- Collaborate with other store staff, including cashiers, supervisors, and managers, to achieve common goals.
- Assist in tasks as assigned by the Store Manager
8. Health and Safety
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to the store manager.
The candidate
• The candidate must have 2 – 3 years retail experience or experience in a customer service role.
• A formal qualification will be advantageous.
• Experience in Nutrition will be an advantage
• Candidate must be tech savvy.
• Knowledge of Point of sales (POS) systems.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy objects.
• Experience in digital retail solutions and/or clinical practice management.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
