Qualification and Experience
- Grade 12
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Accredited Business Analysis Diploma will be an advantage.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 2 years focused on Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in the Financial or IT industries is a plus – ideally working on web and mobile applications / general understanding of websites and digital channels in general.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with software development processes and terminology is advantageous.
What will you do?
- Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders (all business units in Sanlam), including product owners, business units, and customers, to gather and document clear, concise business and technical requirements.
- Agile Process Facilitation: Act as a liaison between development teams and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-value features through Agile practices.
- Scrum Ceremonies: Actively participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across all teams.
- Backlog Management: Work closely with product owners to manage the prioritized product backlog, ensuring stories are well-defined and ready for development.
- User Stories & Acceptance Criteria: Write clear and detailed user stories with defined acceptance criteria that align with business goals and customer needs.
- Process Improvements: Continuously identify and suggest improvements to Agile and Scrum processes, ensuring teams can deliver more efficiently.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the key point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are aligned and have visibility into progress, risks, and project status.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze data and business processes to identify trends, forecast future needs, and provide actionable insights for business improvement.
- Agile Tools Management: Utilize tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms to manage requirements, track progress, and report on project metrics.

- Agile Expertise: Strong understanding of Agile frameworks, particularly Scrum, with experience in facilitating Scrum ceremonies and processes.
- Tools: Proficiency in Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms for managing backlogs and tracking progress.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business domains effectively.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems and provide clear and practical solutions.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and senior management.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities.
