Metalis are seeking a Metallurgical Quality Controller to ensure the quality and safety of our clients metallurgical processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metallurgy and quality inspection and have a keen eye for details when completing documentation and recording processes.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Perform quality control inspections on metallurgical processes to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
- Use testing equipment and techniques to analyze the properties of metals and alloys
- Develop and maintain quality control procedures and documentation
- Investigate and address any quality or safety issues that arise during production
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement improvements to processes and materials
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding quality and safety issues and solutions
Key Areas
- Be a technical point of contact for all queries relating to quality and safety.
- Accountable for the success of production line reducing NCRs.
- Communicate clearly with all areas of the business in particular the proofing team.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- Proven experience in quality control and health and safety in a metallurgical or related environment
- Strong knowledge of metallurgical processes, materials, and testing methods
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to upholding quality and safety standards
