Forklift Driver - Cheltenham

Contract Type: 13 weeks temp to perm.
Hourly Rate: 15.00
Location: Outskirts of Bishops Cleeve, Cheltenham- due to the location candidates must be able to drive & have access to their own transport.
Working Pattern: 4 shifts on, 4 days off.
- 2-day shifts: 06:00-18:00.
- 2-night shifts: 18:00-06:00.
As a Forklift Driver, you will be responsible for maintaining the safe and efficient operation of forklift trucks within the organisation's premises. Your main tasks will include removing reels from the Machine house to the correct areas for processing, ensuring correct input into Oracle, fetching resins, waste, and pallets, as well as maintaining good levels of housekeeping in all departments.
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Valid Counterbalance license (Reach license is desirable but not essential).
- Driving license and access to your own transport are required as there is no public transport.
- Proficiency in manual handling and data entry.
- IT competent.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out all safety checks on the forklift truck before commencing operation.
- Drive the forklift safely and with caution, especially when entering interaction zones.
- Remove reels from the Machine house and transport them to the designated areas for processing.
- Ensure accurate data entry into the Oracle system.
- Bring the correct materials to the Stock Prep department, ensuring that the material sheds are well-maintained and organised. If there is not enough space, transport the materials to the tip and cut them up if necessary.
- Retrieve resins, waste, and pallets as needed.
- Drive safely around people and machinery, prioritising safety at all times.
- Clear away debris and dispose of it in the appropriate bins, then transport it to the compactor.
- When materials are not in use and the sheds are full, remove the materials to the skip outside. Use the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and cut up the materials before placing them in the skip.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping in all departments.
Requirements:
- Forklift licence, with Counterbalance and Reach licences considered highly desirable. At least a Counterbalance licence is required.
- Competence in manual handling and data entry.
- Ability to work full-time and adhere to the 4 on/4 off working pattern.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to working safely.
