Russell Taylor Group has an exciting opportunity for a Production & Supply Chain Coordinator to join our client, a well-established manufacturer, who supply specialist products worldwide.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and coordination of factory manufacturing activities across various departments.
This position requires a person with the financial and manufacturing process acumen necessary to enable efficient manufacturing, skilful vendor management and negotiation, and the capacity to engage with and address both internal and external quality issues.
Responsibilities:
- Plan manufacturing orders and make sure internal timetables, strategic inventory plans, and customer requirements are fulfilled. Establish work priorities and work directions for the factory team to meet customer demands and achieve product flow.
- Track factory schedule performance and assist with important metric gathering that drives productivity and enhancement projects. Using the best ordering strategy, plan manufactured and purchased parts. Make sure precise planning parameters are set in planning systems in accordance with strategic planning designs based on Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Consistently communicate with customer service to ensure that shop priorities are in line with customer needs.
- Coordinate and keep the team updated on solutions to manufacturing problems
- Plan and carry out the supplier's material procurement flow into the factory, making sure that inventory performance meets objectives. Establish effective purchasing guidelines supporting inventory metrics and process efficiencies with supplier partners.
- Work with the Finance Manager on any supplier price changes and maintain the standard cost system.
- Negotiate purchase order supplier quotes to achieve purchasing productivity and supplier cost management.
- Follow up with suppliers as needed to resolve delivery issues, cost changes, or quality issues.
- Manage inventory to ensure strategic inventory design targets are on plan
The person:
- Previous manufacturing planning and procurement work
- Inventory planning and management
- Lean Manufacturing/5S Systems
- Strong knowledge of ERP Systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
