Job Purpose To provide the Corporate Management Team, Executive Members and Heads of Service with a comprehensive, confidential and personal administrative and secretarial support to enable them to perform their duties in a timely and efficient manner.
To carry out research and areas of work that will enable the Heads of Service to prioritise and make informed decisions quickly and effectively.
To work as part of the PA network to provide administrative support to all members of the Corporate Management Team, Executive Members and Heads of Service at peak workload times and during absences of other team members.
To manage all contacts to the Heads of Service and Executive Members as the first point of contact for other professionals, politicians and members of the public
Title of Post Personal Assistant Directorate Corporate Services Essential
Education NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in Business and Administration or be able to demonstrate substantial previous experience as a Personal Assistant to a Director or Senior Manager or Elected Member Experience Experience of working to a Senior Director/Elected Member Experience of managing projects Experience of maintaining confidentiality, sensitive issues and political issues
Experience of dealing with senior politicians Skills High standard of numeracy and literacy with excellent written and oral communication skills Tact and diplomacy experience of dealing with highly sensitive matters High degree of computer literacy Excellent organisational skills Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative Other Desirable Education Experience Experience of a variety of software packages, qualified to RSA 111 and/or ECDL Experience of working within a politically sensitive environment Skills Other
