About the Specifications Technologist job
The purpose of your role will be to take responsibility for maintaining accurate product specifications, regularly updating them, and issuing relevant factory paperwork for production. They collaborate closely with the NPD Department and Technical teams to ensure specifications are up-to-date and aligned with production needs.
Key tasks
- Responsible for creating clear product specs, managing the Customer Specifications log, reviewing packaging and artwork, and ensuring specs meet customer needs and policies.
- Work closely with NPD team to launch new products. Coordinate with other departments for full traceability and manages business relationships.
- Oversee specification projects, ensuring timely completion and resolving issues. Provides clear answers to colleagues, visitors, and auditors.
- Support the Technical Manager with audits, customer visits, and developing quality systems. Actively supports health and safety policies and traceability exercises.
About You
- A food science or related degree and a minimum of 1-year experience within a food manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of baking process advantageous but not essential.
- Confident and familiar with product specification.
