Electrical Controls Engineer
Location: Leeds (office based)
Basic salary: £45- £60k DOE + excellent training programmes from industry experts
30days annual leave

Hours Monday to Thursday 08:30 4:30pm and 4pm finish every Fridays

Our client is a prominent Global Engineering Manufacturer who design and manufacture technical components for the Heavy Forging/steel, Aerospace, Civil Engineering and Fiber Glass sector. You have the chance to join their highly experienced technical team in the heart of Leeds, West Yorkshire. This opportunity offers an exciting prospect for any Controls engineer or Electrical Maintenance Engineer seeking to specialise in a field where every day presents new challenges and opportunities.
The day to day:
The Elecrical Controls Engineer role involves working from the office with the occasional trips to customer sites ensuring the safe and timely delivery of allocated work, reporting completion to company procedures and the satisfaction of the customer and company. As the Controls Engineer joining the team, you ll be working on bespoke, one-off equipment. Approximately 80% of the customers are industrial, with the remaining 20% being Civil Engineering.
Additional responsibilities of the Electrical Controls Engineer:
- Develop control solutions for the company s systems and applications
- In-house programming and testing
- On-Site Commissioning
- Product development
- Field service and customer support
To be a successful candidate for the Electrical Controls Engineer vacancy, my client requires:
- HND / Degree or equivalent apprentice training in electrical/electronic engineering
- Proven experience in a similar role (highly desirable)
- Knowledge & understanding Siemens S7 (TIA Portal) desirable
- Proven Experience in PLC Programming - Ladder, High Level Programming such as SCL (highly desirable)
- Experience or knowledge in WinCC and HMI Designs
- Functional Safety and Safety Programming experience desirable
- CAD Experience (AutoCad, Eplan, Solidworks) would be an advantage
- Knowledge of Electrical controls legislation (Regs, LV Directive,) is essential
- Microsoft 365 (Office Tools)
