Role Overview:
This role will work for our brand Nuttall, based in Dudley, DY2. Here you will hit the ground running in an organisation which produces high quality fabrication of sheet metal and wood product ranges for commercial premises as well as creating and developing end-to-end solutions and high impact retail interiors that are built to last.
You will use your full grasp of CDM regulations and processes and your first-hand experience of dealing with CDM regulations in shaping Nuttalls H&S strategy. You will also play a pivotal role in maintaining and developing assigned projects covering all internal and external aspects of Health & Safety.
You will be assigned to several clients and projects, and responsible for providing the support and assistance needed to manage and ensure operational duties are carried out to CDM regulations. You will play a pivotal role in developing, managing, and implementing the co-ordination and provision of CDM 2015 for the business. Your contributions will be central to maintaining a CDM project database, and electronically filing all CDM project documents in accordance with office procedures.
With a focus on our entire range of company products and services, you will be responsible for undertaking duties in compliance with the CDM 2015 regulations on construction related projects and will advise and assist the internal teams on CDM matters related to design, construction processes and maintenance related matters.
Your contributions will be central to our site activities, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the black country atmosphere and collaborate closely with our dedicated team to push boundaries and shatter expectations.
- Provide a CDM/ H&S service to clients and ensure Nuttall are fully compliant with 2015 CDM Regulations.
- Implement & manage the design risk register.
- Ensure that RAMS are in place on projects and updated on a regular basis.
- Collate pre-construction information packs (PCI) and ensure construction phase plans (CPP) are in place.
- Manage the H&S file, including collating and monitoring.
- Attend internal team and client meetings, offer advice on risk and ensure the wider team are kept up to date with the most current guidance and legislation.
- Development of new and existing procedures, policies and practices.
- Reviewing and advising on Contractor Risk Assessments and Method statements and monitoring subcontractors.
- Assisting in the monitoring and review of protective and preventative health and safety measures to minimise risk.
- Carry out on-site inspections and creating of site risk assessments, Safe systems of work, method statements and operating procedures when required.
- Performing incident and accident investigations and to instruct, document and monitor any recommended remedial actions.
- Measure project H&S performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
- Report and escalate issues and concerns to management as needed.
- Manage the associated requirements for all required accreditations.
- Complete required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame.

You re All We Need:
- NEBOSH Diploma and/or NEBOSH Construction (essential).
- Professional membership to IOSH, APS, or RIBA (desirable).
- Excellent knowledge and hands on experience of 2015 CDM Regulations.
- Previous experience in a CDM Advisor or Principal Designer role.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficient in Microsoft IT skills at Intermediate to Advance including Excel (pivot tables, conditional formatting, advanced formulas), PowerPoint (able to produce client level presentations), Word, Project (able to produce a client programme of works).
- Able to read and understand construction/retail plans.
- Ability to work autonomously, under own initiative with excellent time management skills.
- Sound problem solving skills and ability to think clearly and logically.
