Responsibilities within your new role as the Sous Chef
In this role, you will assist the Head Chef with the daily operations of the kitchen, step in to lead during their absence, and help train and develop junior team members. You will also be responsible for stock ordering and control, as well as contributing to menu development and creating daily specials.
Your personality, experience and qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have proven experience as a Sous Chef within a high-end restaurant or 4/5 star hotel. Strong culinary skills, a deep knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment, along with excellent leadership and communication abilities, are essential. A genuine passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences are key. While a culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred, it is not required.
