The centre:
Woodgreen Leisure Centre is managed by Legacy Leisure on behalf of Cherwell District Council. The facility includes:
- 50m heated outdoor pool (May-September)
- 6 rink indoor bowls hall (September-May)
- Gym including fitness suite, weights room, and functional fitness studio.
- Group exercise studio
- OCC Woodgreen Library
The role:
The Duty Manager position is a key position in the Company. Carrying out continuous customer and staff relations services, the position provides the postholder with a genuinely rewarding experience and provides a springboard to a leisure management career in one of the most attractive and fast growing leisure management companies.
Primary objectives for the Duty Manager will be:
- To ensure the highest possible standards of health and safety and customer care within the Centre.
- To develop and promote an exciting, innovative leisure programme in order to increase the usage and profitability of the Centre.
- To assume shift management responsibility for the Centre, responsible for the day-to-day running of the centre, working alongside the Duty Manager team to manage the Reception, Group Ex, Gym and Recreation Assistant teams.
- Reporting to the Operations Manager and/or Centre Manager.
The Person:
Required:
- Will be able to gain acceptance and respect from clients and the teams involved.
- Will be able to build strong relationships with customers, clients and employees.
- Will be able to communicate at different levels of the organisation.
- Will be able to meet the demands of the role by working on a shift basis including mornings, evenings and weekends, with additional hours when required.
- Will be able to maintain and be committed to good employee relations and deliver quality training.
- Will be able to perform recreation assistant duties when required.
Desirable:
- A National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is desirable but not essential. If not currently held, the applicant will need to successfully pass an NPLQ within 3 months, and must therefore have a reasonable level of physical fitness with good swimming ability. The course will be fully funded by the centre.
- Ideally you will have a Pool Plant Operators qualification and a recognised Leisure Management qualification. If not currently held, the applicant will need to successfully pass an PPO course within 3 months. The course will be fully funded by the centre.
- Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a Leisure setting.
- A recognised Level 2/3 Gym Instructor/Personal Training qualification would be desirable but not essential.
- A recognised Exercise to Music/Group Exercise qualification would be desirable but not essential.
