We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Supervisor to work for one of our NHS clients in the South Shields area.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, give engineering advice and have overall responsibility for engineering maintenance at CHoICE managed properties with any combination of directly employed maintenance staff and contractors.
- Be able to participate in the Engineering Management’s “Emergency On-call” rota, training / site knowledge will be required ahead of participation.
- Participate in the annual estates stores stocktaking.
- Issue of Permits to Work incl. but not limited to Hot Works permits, working at heights and confined spaces.
- Assist in the preparation of all record drawings relating to all mechanical elements at sites.
- Oversee and Manage department’s pay & non-pay expenditure budget i.e. materials and associated Backlog budgets.
- Oversee and provide HR management of all directly employed labour under their responsibility
- Prepare drawings, specifications and contracts as required.
Requirements
- Must be a time served Mechanical Craftsman.
- Must possess a City/Guilds Part 2 & 3 qualification in an appropriate subject area or equivalent.
- Must have significant experience of working in a Hospital or similar environment.
- May be required to carry out first stage of disciplinary investigations.
- Confidence skill and judgement is required when undertaking work in areas of restricted access i.e. working in confined spaces, working at heights or from ladders and working in adverse conditions.
- Strong project management abilities to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A commitment to maintaining high safety standards in all operations.
