The Physical Disability Specialist Service (PDSS) provides assessments for disabled children and young people with a variety of physical and neurodiverse disabilities in mainstream schools. We are looking to recruit a permanent Occupational Therapist (18.5hrs) with at least 2 years experience to work within mainstream schools across Nottinghamshire County. This will include completing School Access Assessments to identify any barriers to education to ensure children and young people with disabilities are not excluded, discriminated against and to ensure the legal requirements of the Equality Act 2010 are met.
Could you be part of a dedicated and committed Paediatric Specialist team providing support to disabled children and young people in mainstream nurseries, schools and colleges across Nottinghamshire? We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Occupational Therapist to join our busy team who can work collaboratively with colleagues, children and young people, school staff and other professionals.
The team specifically supports disabled children, young people and school staff in mainstream schools by completing moving and handling assessments, ICT Assessments, Postural Seating and Specialist Toileting assessments and School Access Assessments. This is to identify whether there are any reasonable adjustments, specialist equipment or safe handling training that is required to ensure a child or young person can independently and safely access the school and their education. The Safe Handler's also provides moving and handling training to school staff within schools and at their base in Mansfield.
If you are a compassionate, committed, creative and resilient individual who enjoys working as part of a team but also independently, then you could be just the person we are looking for to welcome to our team here in Nottinghamshire.
