The BI Guidewire DataHub platform has a position available for a Tester who will be based in Bellville.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Tester responsible for the development of test cases to verify the data loads and functionality of Guidewire BI Solution (DataHub) and the output as generated with exploitation tools. Also responsible for linking test cases to business/systems/data requirements to ensure traceability. Provide input into or execute automated test scripts. Will also execute regression test cases, log defects and create test artifacts. This role operates specifically in the Guidewire BI Domain.
DUTIES
- Analyse and develop the proper test coverage with the Business/Data Analyst/ Product Owner
- Responsible for creating and executing test scripts
- Identify and create necessary test data
- Check test results and log defects
- Analyse metrics for quality assessment
- Analyse risks, develop contingencies, and plan testing accordingly.
- Extract information, as requested by clients, from different databases.
- May work with Business/Data Analyst to influence and monitor User Acceptance Testing.
- Track and monitor errors and test results with project team
- Testing progress reports to management for overall testing reporting.
- Responsibilities may require after hours and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Relevant Tertiary IT/Testing Qualification (Degree or diploma)
- Minimum of 3 years BI testing experience
- Testing on large volumes of data
- Testing certification (ISTQB – Foundation certificate) will be an advantage
- Previous experience in tools like JIRA and Xray will be beneficial
- Experience using Microsoft SQL server management studio will be beneficial
- Experience writing SQL queries is critical for this role
- Experience utilizing exploitation tools
- Experience in software testing methodologies (agile, waterfall, data, functional and non-functional), test planning, test cases development, execution of test cases
- Experience in developing test cases and test scenarios from use cases and/or requirements specifications
- Experience with Requirements Management, Test Management and Defect Management Tools.
- Experience with Release processes

- Good working knowledge of testing best practices and frameworks
