Financial Accountant
A South African company specialising in the design, manufacturing, and supply of equipment, systems, and solutions for the mining and mineral processing industries is looking for a Financial Accountant to record, report, and analyse company financial transactions and cost structures, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Accounts receivable management - reconciliations, reporting, credit limits, debt collection and cash collection forecasting
- Creditor reconciliations and bank payments review
- Budgeting and forecasting - sales, cost, profit margins, cash flows and variance analysis
- Project accounting - billable hours, cost monitoring and recovery analysis
- Financial risk assessment and communication to relevant stakeholders
- Cost control and sales analysis - monitoring major costs, sales performance and profit margin analysis
- Financial reporting - real-time cost, performance dashboards and monthly management reporting
- Compliance with ISO processes and company procedures - reviewing, updating, and developing financial policies and procedures to ensure regulatory and legal compliance
- Risk management and insurance - review insurance agreements, monitor business transactions and claim liability
- Management of inter-company transactions and balances
- Manage and oversee audit processes
- Review and analysis of new systems, including participation in system development and implementation
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CIMA preferred)
- Minimum of 5-7 years experience in a financial accounting role in engineering/construction or manufacturing
- IFRS knowledge
- Proven track record with managing ERP systems such as SAP/BAAN
- Experience with Power BI and advanced MS Excel
Package & Remuneration
R600 000 - R720 000 per annum
