Operations Administrator
Based in the Cape Town, Western Cape - South Africa and remote working

IETA has played an important role in carbon pricing discussions for over two decades. As an Operations Administrator, your role will be to ensure that IETA engages constructively with key internal stakeholders and Members that meet the urgent need to decarbonise and deliver the net zero ambition.
Reporting to the Operations Manager in South Africa, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Operations Administrator. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of financial and operational tasks to support the overall functioning of the organisation.
Responsibilities to include:
- Assist with financial tasks such as processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Generating and distributing invoices
- Payments follow up
- Resolving billing discrepancies and issues
- Keeping accurate records of payments and transactions
- Monitoring accounts receivable aging reports
- Generating financial reports related to accounts receivables
- Assisting with travel expenses and coding
- Working closely with other departments, such as Membership and Events, to address member and sponsor payment issues
- Updating membership account information in QuickBooks
- Providing excellent membership service to address inquiries and concerns related to billing and payments.
- Support the operations team in managing day-to-day activities
- Support Operations in the implementation and execution of efficient systems and processes to improve operational efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations across all departments
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree/ Diploma (Post Matric) in finance, business administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in a similar role or internship, with knowledge of financial and operational processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software (preferably QuickBooks)
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Detail-oriented and highly organised
- Experience in working with multiple currencies preferred
Package and Location:
- The package will be commensurate with experience
- 25 days of holiday plus public holidays
- This position is a hybrid role, based in the Western Cape / South Africa (with preference to Cape Town or within commuting distance)
