Accountant Position
Our client in Westville is looking for an accountant to join their team. Based in the construction industry, the role will include looking after a small group of related companies. Experience of accounting in the construction industry would be highly desirable.
Role:
- Manage the entire accounting function for the business including attending to the bookkeeping function in Pastel and liaising with the HR officer for payroll.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs for the business.
- Prepare budgets and monitor as required by the director.
- Work with the external accountants for year-end purposes, preparing packs and reconciliations.
- Attend to SARs returns, verifications, and queries.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
- Minimum 3 years' post-articles experience in accounting.
- Strong technical knowledge of tax and accounting principles.
- Experience in dealing with SARS both via e-filing and other channels.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in training and mentoring staff.
- Driver's license.
The salary is dependent on the level of experience and academic study, and as such the range for this role is very open at R15000+ CTC per month.
