Purchasing Specialist
Our national client, a prominent leader in the manufacturing printing industry located near Mount Edgecombe , is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Specialist to join our team. Core Purpose of the Job: As a Purchasing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the acquisition of goods and services necessary for our organization's efficient operation. Your responsibilities will include identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services, and optimizing procurement processes to minimize costs while maximizing value. You will be instrumental in strategic sourcing, cost reduction initiatives, and overall supply chain management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics & Supply Chain Management
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role within the print, packaging, manufacturing industry
- Technical understanding of raw materials, substrates/media
- Experience with imports
- Procurement: Analyzing product requirements, demand planning, and inventory management.
- Supplier Management: Evaluating suppliers, managing agreements, and driving improvement initiatives.
- Benchmarking: Comparing pricing and performance against industry standards.
- Exploration of Alternatives: Seeking out alternative products or suppliers for diversification and innovation.
- Negotiation for Cost Savings: Leveraging negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing and terms.
- Requests for Proposals (RFPs): Initiating and managing the RFP process for sourcing products or services.
- Understanding Cost Drivers: Analyzing factors influencing product or service costs and mitigating fluctuations.
