Introduction
We are looking to recruit a permanent Central Replenishment Manager to work for United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD). The role will be based at the Cape Town branch and will report to the Capacity and Logistics Planning Executive.
Job purpose:
Oversee and manage the replenishment planning process for our pharmaceutical distribution network. This role involves optimising inventory levels, ensuring timely stock availability, and coordinating with various departments to maintain smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management:
- Analyse inventory data to forecast demand and adjust replenishment plans accordingly.
- Monitor stock levels and manage reorder points to prevent stock outs and excess inventory.
- Work closely with buying, inventory control and warehouse teams to optimise inventory levels and minimise carrying costs while ensuring product availability.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilise data analytics tools and software to generate reports on inventory performance, stock levels and replenishment metrics.
- Present findings and recommendations to management to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in replenishment planning.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for inventory management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, buying, operations, and finance, to forecast demand, manage budgets, and support business growth initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely information flow.
- Compliance and Monitoring:
- Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and standards.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to capitalise on opportunities and mitigate risks.
Required Minimum Education and Qualifications:
• Grade 12
• Degree or 3-year National Diploma in Supply Chain, BCom, Btech or relevant qualification
Minimum Experience:
• Essential 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management with proven experience in inventory management, demand planning, or replenishment in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products, suppliers, and market dynamics.
• Excellent track record of achieving cost savings and improving supplier relationships.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the pharmaceutical distribution sector.
