Our client in Maydon Wharf, Durban is looking for an accountant to join their team.
Based in the warehousing and logistics industry, the role will include looking after a small group of related companies. Experience of accounting in the warehousing industry would be highly desirable.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the entire accounting function for the business including attending to the bookkeeping function.
- Monthly management accounts and reporting packs for the business.
- Prepare budgets and monitoring as required by the director.
- Work with the external accountants for year end purposes, preparing packs and reconciliations.
- Attend SARs returns, verifications and queries.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
- Minimum 3 years' post articles experience in accounting.
- Strong technical knowledge of tax and accounting principles.
- Experience in dealing with SARS both via efiling and other channels.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in training and mentoring staff.
- Drivers licence.
- High attention to detail.
Package & Remuneration
The salary is dependent on the level of experience and academic study and as such, the range of pay for this role is negotiable. A qualifying candidate can expect around R25,000.00 CTC per month.
