A world class fuel refinery has a contract position available for a Financial Analyst at their premises in Milnerton. The purpose of the role is to provide cost reporting and financial analysis.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Produce monthly cost reporting & coordinate cost review meetings with cost centre owners.
- Perform monthly variance analysis of actual vs budget on operating expenses.
- Prepares and presents divisional operating expenses financial reports and variance explanations as required by Refinery Leadership Team at monthly governance meeting.
- Provide financial guidance to refinery business unit through accounting policy & IFRS interpretation and application, tax implications of proposed actions, capex vs. operating expenses decisions etc.
- Participate in special projects as directed by Manager, Refinery Finance. Projects are focused on continuous improvement in the areas of cost (SAP, ARIBA, cost reporting).
Qualifications and Experience
- Fully qualified CA(SA) or CIMA non-negotiable
- 2-5 years of post-qualification experience is highly preferable, especially experience in cost analysis and reporting.
- Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with ability and confidence to work well with a broad spectrum of personnel across the organization and constructively provide guidance within a team environment.
- SAP experience and knowledge would count in candidate’s favour.
