Minimum requirements:
- Accounting Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of experience in accounting; experience with project accounting or cost accounting is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with project accounting practices and cost accounting principles would be highly beneficial
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial data, identifying discrepancies, and solving accounting issues.
- Experience in cost accounting and financial analysis, particularly in project-based or service-oriented industries
- Proactive, adaptable, and willing to take on new challenges within the accounting function
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and assist with month-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable financial regulations.
- Conduct thorough reconciliations of project accounts, ensuring accurate tracking of expenses and revenues.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand budgetary needs and track project costs.
- Identify discrepancies and work with relevant departments to resolve them promptly.
- Support in generating detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in cost accounting tasks, including cost allocation, variance analysis, and margin assessment.
- Analyse financial data to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies
- Prepare documentation and assist with internal and external audits.
- Ensure records are well-organized, complete, and audit-ready at all times.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards and help enhance financial controls and processes.
- Work closely with Finance, Project Management, and Procurement teams to understand and manage cost structures.
- Communicate effectively with non-finance departments to facilitate project budgeting and cost control.
