Job Purpose:
The Partner: Tax will lead the firm's tax practice, delivering expert advice on a wide range of tax issues. The role includes driving business development, managing client relationships, and ensuring the department’s financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Client Advisory & Relationship Management:
- Provide high-level tax advisory services to corporate clients and high-net-worth individuals.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring client needs are met with tailored tax solutions.
2. Business Development:
- Expand the firm's tax practice and client base by identifying new business opportunities.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of proposals for high-value tax engagements.
3. Tax Strategy & Technical Expertise:
- Stay updated on tax legislation and regulations, providing cutting-edge advice.
- Develop tax strategies for clients to ensure compliance while maximizing tax efficiency.
4. Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and manage the tax team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff, ensuring professional growth and exceptional client service.
5. Financial Management:
- Ensure the profitability of the tax practice through effective management of resources and budgets.
- Oversee billing, collections, and financial reporting for tax engagements.
Skills & Qualifications:
- LLB, BCom, or equivalent with a specialization in tax.
- 10+ years of post-qualification experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of corporate, international, and VAT tax.
