Financial Manager
A vacancy exists for a Financial Manager at a leading Property and Facilities Management company in Gauteng with the Head office in Centurion. The Business has been operating for 30 years. The primary focus is on the management of properties on behalf of Home Owners Associations and Body Corporates. Other divisions include the Rental collections, Facilities Management, Utilities management for clients, and Insurance Brokerage. The company is a family business with the objective of expanding its footprint and offerings and growing profits in an enjoyable, cooperative and professional environment.
This position requires a financial manager, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer experienced in the industry capable of leading and motivating a finance team innovatively to enable the business to achieve its objective of being a market leading brand into the future.
Specific responsibilities and required skills are listed below.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to execute on the Shareholder’s Objectives
- Manage a diverse financial team Implement financial plans to drive growth and maintain financial health
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Enforce adherence to legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s legality and business ethics
- Advise on business planning and decision making
- Manage risks to achievement of company objectives
- Oversee the maintenance of financial records and submission of statutory returns
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of applicable legislation and accounting requirements that impact company business
- Ensure that financial systems, records and internal controls are in place to produce accurate and reliable financial reports
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of monthly and annual financial reports
Requirements and skills
- Minimum of five years’ experience in the industry or similar of which at least three has been in a managerial position
- Com. or similar with knowledge and experience in property management systems
- Working knowledge of IFRS and Caseware
- Sound understanding of the Acts and Regulations governing the company business
- Excellent oral and written communications abilities
- Self-motivated, dependable, deadline driven
- Ability to lead a team of people and motivate them to achieve company objectives
- Ability to interact with executives and influence financial and governance decisions
