REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years field experience
- Proficiency in English, Afrikaans and Isi Xhosa
- Code B drivers licence and own transport
- Immediately available
- Grade 12
- Diploma in Supply chain management(preferable)
- Proven industry experience with contactable references with a strong understanding of fleet operations, planning and co-ordinating(essential)
- MS Office
- SAP or similar ERP system experience
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES:
- Monitor and manage the company’s fleet of vehicles including trucks, vans, trailers, specialised machinery (< 350 fleet).
- Coordinate the allocation of vehicles to different departments of projects ensuring optimal utilization and cost effectiveness
- Schedule and track vehicle routes.
- Schedule and track vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of vehicle details, fuel consumption, maintenance logs and relevant data.
- Plan and optimise efficient routes for vehicle movement taking into account distance, fuel consumption and delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with drivers and dispatchers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of good or services
- Reports on fleet and drivers’ performance
- Regular communication with drivers and other stakeholders
- Liaise with external vendors (transporters)
